Mike Greene retired from the practice of law in 2019. He is a national authority on legal malpractice and diabetes discrimination matters. He won substantial verdicts and settlements in legal malpractice, personal injury, premises liability, sexual misconduct, and employment cases. He also served as a Multnomah County Circuit Judge pro tem for almost two decades.
Mike was involved with the American Diabetes Association for almost 40 years. He served as Chair of the National Board of Directors from 1994-1995, created a legal advocacy program to fight discrimination on behalf of people with diabetes, and set up a foundation to fund diabetes research. He frequently wrote friend-of-the-court briefs for the American Diabetes Association in courts throughout the country, including the United States Supreme Court. Mike was awarded the Dr. Charles H. Best Award for Distinguished Service to the American Diabetes Association and the Wendell Mayes, Jr. Award for Outstanding Service in the Cause of Diabetes.
During his career, Mike received the Distinguished Trial Lawyer Award from the Oregon Trial Lawyers Association, as well as the Award of Merit and the Outstanding Service Award from the Multnomah Bar Association.
